Why glass rather than emery board or metal?

  • Washable and disinfectable – more hygienic than any file with a paper coating, which is why it is also popular in practices.
  • Fine removal – you file in a controlled way, without accidentally taking off too much.

How to file correctly

Always file in one direction, not back and forth – the sawing motion separates the nail layers and is the real cause of splintered edges. File the nail dry: after bathing the nail is soft and frays more easily. Place the file flat against the edge, do not work from underneath.

Which nails is it suitable for?

  • Brittle, soft or thin nails – this is where the glass file shows its greatest advantage.
  • Natural nails and children's fingernails – gentle enough for daily care.
  • Thick toenails – here a metal file or a coarse sapphire file works faster.
  • Gel and artificial nails – the glass file is too fine for these.

Care and durability

Rinse under warm water, clean with soap or disinfectant if needed and leave to dry. Always store in the protective sleeve – glass files are robust in use, but sensitive if they knock against hard objects loose in a bag.
