Cosmetic Tweezers

Cosmetic tweezers come down to one thing above all: the two tips have to close flush, with no offset. Hold a closed pair of tweezers up to the light – if you can see a gap, fine hairs will slip through. That is where most cheap models fail, not on the shape.

Which tip for which job?

  • Slanted tip – the choice for eyebrows. The bevelled edge sits flat against the line of the skin and picks up several hairs at once.
  • Pointed tip – for facial hair, chin hairs and very fine or light hairs. Grips single hairs right at the root, even when they are short.
  • Curved tip – keeps the working area in view, popular for lashes and delicate work.
  • Straight tip – the classic for gripping and holding, also in nail and foot care.

How to pluck with less redness

  • Dab the skin with a warm cloth first – warm skin releases the hair more easily.
  • Pull the hair in the direction of growth, not against it. This prevents ingrown hairs.
  • Grip close to the skin rather than at the end of the hair, otherwise the hair breaks off.
  • Good light matters more than an expensive model – for light hairs, tweezers with a built-in light help.

Care

Disinfect the tips after every use, especially after removing ingrown hairs. Always store them with the protective cap or in the case: bent tips cannot be realigned reliably, and precision depends on exactly that.
