Household scissors or fabric scissors?

The difference lies in the grind. Household scissors are all-rounders with a robust edge. Fabric and tailor's shears have a more finely ground blade and often a bent handle, so the fabric stays flat on the table while you cut.

Important: fabric scissors should be used on textiles only. Paper dulls the fine edge within a few cuts.
