Removing Splinters: The Right Tweezers and Technique

Splitterpinzette aus Edelstahl mit superspitzen Enden zum Fassen und Herausziehen von Splittern

A splinter often sits deep and is hard to grip with your fingers. With pointed tweezers (splinter tweezers) you grip it precisely and pull it out in the direction it grew or entered.

How to remove a splinter

  • Wash or disinfect your hands and the tweezers.
  • Light the area well, use a magnifier if needed.
  • Grip the splinter with the pointed tweezers and pull it out in the direction of entry.
  • Disinfect the area afterwards.
