This courage is what the blade represents. It was inspired by Theodore Roosevelt's speech titled "Citizenship in a Republic." An excerpt from this speech, known as "The Man in the Arena," is engraved in full on the back of this special blade.
The speech says that it is not the critic who counts, but that all the credit goes to the man in the arena who dares a lot.
