Note on the material: This instrument is made of nickel-plated steel and is therefore not stainless. The nickel layer protects the steel from corrosion. Clean the instrument after each use, dry it thoroughly immediately and store it in a dry place. Prolonged moisture as well as harsh cleaning agents and disinfectants can attack the nickel layer; if it is damaged, the steel underneath may develop surface rust.
For fabric, better use fabric scissors. Paper dulls the cutting edge – scissors that cut a lot of paper will later tend to pull fabric rather than cut it cleanly. Keep the two separate: Fabric scissors & tailor's scissors.
