Note on the material: This instrument is made of nickel-plated steel and is therefore not stainless. The nickel layer protects the steel from corrosion. Clean the instrument after each use, dry it thoroughly straight away and store it in a dry place. Prolonged moisture as well as harsh cleaning agents and disinfectants can attack the nickel layer; if it is damaged, the steel underneath may develop surface rust.
